Accepting Resumes for the Moyaone Pool Manager Position for the 2024 season!  Job description and qualifications can be found by clicking here. Work to start in May with limited hours in preparation for the pool opening Memorial Day weekend through the week after Labor Day to winterize the pool. A Roman Holiday” Wagner Community Center Fundraiser on Sat., July 15  the pool will close at 4:00 pm for event set-up. The party starts at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased HERE

Accokeek Swim Team

The Accokeek Swim Team is a not-for-profit competitive swim team in the Prince-Mont Swim League for ages 4-18 years. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to seasoned competitor. The focus is on mastering the correct stroke technique and learning teamwork, good sportsmanship, and self-discipline. We are run by our volunteer members and parents, and all are welcome and encouraged to be involved in team activities. Find more information and the registration form here.

Accokeek Swim Team

Camp Accokeek

The Camp Accokeek fee for the 2023 season is  $100. Campers who attend Camp Accokeek for two weeks or less must pay the daily rate. Please contact Mary Ann Fernandez at CampAccokeek@aol.com for further information about Camp Accokeek and pool policy.

Pool Rules for Summer 2023

  • When checking in at the lobby desk, members will patiently wait their turn.
  • Members are responsible for supervising children under the age of 12 at all times.
  • Loitering in the lobby area is not allowed.
  • Members and guests must follow Prince George’s County guidelines, which are subject to change.
  • No personal items may be left in the locker rooms or bathrooms. All personal items must be taken to the deck area.
  • A limited number of chairs are available for use on a first come, first served basis. Members are encouraged to bring their own pool-area chairs.
  • Members under 18 must immediately vacate the pool for adult-only swim at the lifeguard’s whistle at the three-quarter mark of the clock.
  • Members must take personal trash with them when they leave the pool.
  • Personal items left at the pool will be considered unclaimed and disposed of at the end of each day.
  • Members and guests may not be intoxicated or otherwise under the influence of illicit substances.
  • No running, horseplay, dunking, pushing, or throwing persons into pool.
  • No sitting or hanging onto lane lines or ropes.
  • Follow lifeguards’ instructions at all times.
  • No smoking on the premises.
  • No fireworks on the premises.
  • No pets permitted inside pool enclosure with the exception of service dogs.
  • Anyone under 12 years of age must pass a swim test before they are allowed to swim in the diving well area of the pool.
  • Members and guests are asked to engage with the lifeguards and pool staff in a respectful manner.
  • Bullying of staff, members, or guests will not be tolerated at the Moyaone Pool and is grounds for immediate removal.

Moyaone Association Pool Management has full authority to immediately suspend pool privileges and/or to ask any member or guest to leave who engages in actions that are unlawful, against these Guidelines, or have the potential to be dangerous to the health, well-being, or enjoyment of the pool by other members and guests. Suspended pool privileges may be restored at the discretion of the Moyaone Association Pool Manager.

Guests

A sponsoring member must register their guests upon checking in, and the sponsoring member must accompany their guests at all times.

An adult member is required to sign in guests who are under the age of 16.

Children & Teens

Children under the age of 12 must be supervised in pool area and locker rooms at all times by a responsible person who is at least 16 years old.

During open swim times, there will be an “adult swim” period scheduled 15 minutes before the top of every hour. During this time, all children under the age of 18 must exit the pool for 10 minutes.

Unless swimming with an instructor, all swimmers under the age of 12 must pass a swimming test before entering water deeper than 3 feet and using the diving well area.

If at any point a lifeguard notices signs of fatigue in a novice swimmer or an increase in deep-end activity overall, then lifeguards reserve the right to ask novice swimmers to take a 30-minute break (or longer, depending on the number of swimmers in the pool) from the pool.

Use of USCG-approved PDF is highly recommended.

Swim Diaper Policy

All children under the age of 4 who are not reliably potty trained must wear a properly fitted swim diaper at all times while in the main pool or baby pool.

Regular cloth or disposable diapers are not an acceptable alternative and are not permitted in either pool.

Properly fitted swim diapers must be snug around the waist and thighs.

Diving

Diving is only permitted in the deep end diving well area.

Wait until the previous diver has cleared the landing area before you dive.

Swim immediately to the ladder or side of the pool after diving.

Food and Drink

No glass containers are permitted in the pool area or locker rooms.

No gum or alcohol is permitted within the pool enclosure.

Food and drink are allowed on the grassy areas within the pool enclosure. Please clean up after yourselves.

The pool facility does not provide ice or refrigeration.

Other

The pool and baby pool may be closed at any time during normal hours of operation due to contamination, accident, or injury.

In the event of thunder or lightning, the pool adheres to the National Lightening Safety Institute’s advised safety procedures. Members and guests will be asked to clear the pool and deck areas for 30 minutes in the event of thunder and/or lightning. Locker rooms are not considered a safe environment during lightning and may not be used for sheltering.

Proper swimwear is required.

Persons with open sores, skin-related illness, or diarrhea may not go into a pool.

Parent-supervised swim aides for young children or kick boards for swimming lessons are permitted.

All accidents or injuries should immediately be reported to pool staff.

The pool is not responsible for the loss of or damage to any valuables or other personal property. All personal items left at the pool will be disposed of at the end of each day.
